With M. Tech from IIT-Delhi and PhD from Germany, he has served as MD & CEO of Petronet LNG Ltd. (the largest LNG importer of India) which is promoted by ONGC, BPCL, GAIL & IOC. Petronet attained new heights of success under the able guidance of Dr. A K Balyan. He also served as Director In charge – HR, Business Development & Joint Ventures in ONGC Ltd. He has more than three and a half decades of experience in the field of exploration, production operations, project management, business development and human resource functions in ONGC Ltd. After spending decades with the public sector giant ONGC followed by the strong stint in Petronet LNG, he joined the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group as CEO – Oil & Gas Business in 2015 and served till 2018. As an Adviser and Independent Director, Dr. Balyan initiated many new business ventures for Dipon Group. He specifically spearheaded some of the key initiatives for starting LNG and LPG business verticals of Dipon Group.
